At night of May 17th, numerous museums will open their doors to welcome you free of charge with several animations. The Hôtel du Nord et de l'Est, situated Place de la République, at the heart of Paris, allows you to reach all the museums of the Night of Museums of Paris within 15 minutes.
You can discover in particular the house of big names of the French literature with the House of Balzac (in 15 min) and Victor Hugo's house (in 6 min), the first one will propose conferences around its history and around its works, the second will set up an exhibition free of access from the 7pm till the 11pm.
For those who prefer the History to the stories, the Museum of Zadkine (in 12 min) will expose a series of images of the famous Russian photographer, Procoudine-Gorsky, who crossed the old Russia from 1909 till 1916. The exhibition is visible from 7pm till the 11pm in the museum and in its gardens. The Museum of Général Leclerc de Hauteclocque et de la Libération de Paris (in 17 min) will broadcast, from 4pm till the 10pm, two short films to make you relive the liberation of Paris.
The music lovers can go to the Museum of modern art of the City of Paris (in 14 min) at 20pm to attend Michel Metzler's percussion concert. The Cognacq-Jay museum (in 5 min) in partnership with the association Cheapster will propose a DJ set revisiting the works of the XVIIIth century. For a more romantic atmosphere, the Museum de la Vie Romantique (in 11 min) will realize a musical evening on classics : Barlioz, Schubert, Schumann...
